INBISTRA at Startup Capital Summit 2026 in Coimbra

The historic Convento São Francisco in Coimbra, Portugal, recently played host to the 2026 Startup Capital Summit. The event drew over 1,400 participants, including more than 300 startups and 90 international investors, all focused on a central challenge: translating cutting-edge scientific research into viable, investable market solutions.

A key highlight of the summit's dynamic afternoon program was the reverse pitch session, “Flipping the Table: Angels on Stage.” In a shift from the standard format, investors and industry experts took the stage to detail exactly how they scout, assess, and value early-stage ventures. Our CEO, Ignacio Sancho-Martinez, delivered a reverse pitch focused on the complexities of therapeutic development. He highlighted that, unlike traditional tech sectors, evaluating biotech opportunities requires balancing scientific evidence, development risk, and clinical feasibility.

The summit also highlighted Portugal's growing role in the international deep tech and life sciences ecosystem.
